Tasting Notes
A single-varietal Viura from the Finca La Emperatriz estate, drawing mostly on vines over sixty years old with a proportion of younger plantings, all on sandy loam scattered with white river stones. Pressed under inert atmosphere, cold-macerated, then fermented cool in stainless steel and rested two months on fine lees — no oak at any stage. Straw yellow with green flecks. The nose is unexpectedly floral for the variety, with white peach, green apple and citrus peel. The palate is silky through the middle, with well-knit acidity, a faint pleasing bitterness on the close and a stony, saline finish — 91 Robert Parker.
